The marks

Projects practicing the methodology declare what happens to their deliberation record — and the declaration has three honest states:

  • Open Deliberations — the record ships with the code
  • Closed Deliberations — a record exists and is declared; kept, not hidden
  • Digest — model-written summaries ship; the record is kept

The one people trip on is 📘. A closed record is a statement of worth, not an apology: the project is telling you its deliberations are valuable enough to keep — and honest enough to say so. Hiding that a record exists would be a different (and worse) choice; the mark exists precisely so keeping and disclosing can both be features.

The closed book is blue on purpose: The record’s own ink, not a warning color. A status mark that pleaded guilty would re-apologize the thing the whole practice refuses to apologize for.
